LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee University women's cross country team and seven individual student-athletes were recognized for academic excellence by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), as announced last Thursday.
The Generals earned the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team distinction after posting an impressive cumulative GPA of 3.694 under the leadership of Head Coach Michael Dager. To qualify, teams must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.
Individually, seven Generals were named USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes for their outstanding performances in the classroom and on the course. To earn this distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 and finish in the top 25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
