Women’s Track and Field Competes at JDL Last Chance Invite

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Washington and Lee University women's track and field team sent a group of student-athletes to Winston-Salem for the JDL Last Chance Invite with five Generals posting top ten finishes.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MEET
  • Claire Hamlet was the lone General in the 3,000m run this afternoon, clocking in a time of 11:09.07 for an eighth place finish.
  • Lucie Graziano paced the Blue and White in the 800m on Saturday, crossing the finish in a personal best time of 2:20.55, the seventh fastest time in program history, to finish in second place. Sophia Breschi finished two spots behind Graziano in fourth, clocking in a personal best time of 2:20.81 which also moved her into the No. 8 slot in the program record books. Charlotte Gardner finished in ninth place in the event, posting a time of 2:27.75 while Lane Smith finished in 14th place after crossing the finish line in a personal best time of 2:30.35.
  • Emma Mitchell and Julie Anne Bush both competed in the Mile run to wrap up the meet in Winston-Salem with Mitchell finishing in seventh place with a time of 5:10.10. Bush clocked in a new personal best in the mile, crossing the finish line in 5:30.42.

  • The Blue and White are back in action on Saturday, March 1st as they compete in the first day of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships at Roanoke College.
