HAMPTON, Va. — The Washington and Lee University men's swimming team sits in second place following the first day of competition at the Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets Invitational. The Generals totaled 237 points through the opening ten events, trailing Salisbury (426) while leading Catholic (225.5) and St. Mary's (Md.) (140.5).
W&L earned a pair of top-three relay finishes and placed four swimmers inside the top 10 of the 200 individual medley. Senior
Dalton Jobe led the way with an event title in the IM, clocking 1:51.10, while four, senior
Charles Byars, senior
Harrison Cerone, junior
Zane Ross, and first-year
Carter Whetstine all finished inside the top 10 for the 200 IM championships.
The Generals opened the meet with a fourth-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay and closed the finals session with a third-place finish in the 400 medley relay.
