LEXINGTON, Va. — The Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced its major women's cross country awards Thursday afternoon, and Washington and Lee University claimed three of the league's top honors following an ODAC championship fall campaign.
Junior Olivia Warr was named ODAC Runner of the Year, junior Lydia Harvey earned ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and Head Coach Michael Dager was selected as ODAC Coach of the Year.
Warr's award adds to another dominant season as the Generals' frontrunner. The junior won her second straight ODAC title on Nov. 1, leading W&L to a commanding 21-point team victory. Two weeks later, she repeated as the NCAA South Region champion, finishing in 21:00.7 and helping the Generals secure a regional runner-up finish and a national championship berth. Warr enters the NCAA Division III Championships ranked No. 10 nationally by XCRI.
Harvey adds the conference's top academic honor to a season that included a runner-up finish at ODACs, a second-place finish at the South Region Championship, and a spot inside the nation's top 100 in XCRI individual rankings. A biology major with a 4.0 GPA, she is W&L's second-leading scorer and a key contributor to the program's climb to No. 17 nationally entering nationals.
Dager earns Coach of the Year for the second time after guiding the Generals to another strong season where W&L won team titles at the Eagles Challenge and Dickinson Invitational, placed fifth at the nationally loaded Paul Short Run, and claimed the 2025 ODAC Championship by a 44-point margin. The Generals went on to finish second in the NCAA South Region and performed well enough to earn a ticket to nationals for the third time in program history.
Washington and Lee's depth has also been reflected in the national rankings, with six runners inside the XCRI top 500, including Warr, Harvey, senior Eve Spencer (No. 217), first-year Maddy Morgan (No. 366), first-year Josie Engle (No. 486), and first-year Adelaide Ellis (No. 495).
The Generals return to championship action on Saturday, Nov. 22, at the NCAA Division III National Championships, where they will compete as the No. 17 team in the nation.
Up Next: No. 17 Washington and Lee will return to championship action on Saturday at the 2025 NCAA Division III Championships on Nov. 22, Spartanburg, S.C. at Roger Milliken Center.
