BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The No. 14 Washington and Lee women's cross country team left no doubt in defending its conference crown, capturing the 2025 ODAC Championship in commanding fashion on Saturday afternoon at Bridgewater College.
The Generals placed five runners in the top seven and all seven scorers inside the top nine to total just 21 points, defeating runner-up Lynchburg (68) by 47 points and third-place Shenandoah (89).
The victory marks the 21st ODAC title in program history and the second straight for the Generals, who also completed a team sweep with the W&L men — the University's first since 2019.
Junior Olivia Warr repeated as the ODAC individual champion and was named the ODAC Runner of the Meet after setting a Bridgewater course record with a time of 21:39.8. Junior Lydia Harvey followed as the runner-up in 22:06.4, also under the previous record of 22:21.9 (set by EMU's Hannah Chappell-Dick in 2015), and was recognized as the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete of the Year for her excellence in both academics and athletics.
The 1–2 finish by Warr and Harvey marked W&L's first individual sweep at the top of the ODAC podium since 2019, when Sarah Stephenson and Julia Moody went first and second to lead the Generals to the conference title with 20 points total.
Rookie Maddy Morgan earned All-ODAC First Team honors with a fifth-place finish in 22:48.8, while Eve Spencer (sixth, 22:54.5) and Reese Brown (seventh, 23:02.6) rounded out the scoring five. First-year Josie Engle (eighth, 23:05.7) and classmate Adelaide Ellis (ninth, 23:17.9) closed strong as part of W&L's top seven, helping the Generals secure a dominant back-to-back championship performance.
The Generals top-5 produced an average time of 22:30 and a spread that ranged 1:22 overall.
