LEXINGTON, Va. —The No. 24 Washington and Lee University field hockey team extended its winning streak to four games with a dominant 8–0 road victory over Sweet Briar College on Tuesday evening at Thayer Field. The Generals (10–4, 4–1 ODAC) scored three goals in the opening quarter and never looked back, outshooting the Vixens (2–10, 0–6 ODAC) by a 23–1 margin.
Sydney Baggett got W&L rolling just two minutes into the game, finishing off a pass from
Madeline Lancione at 2:13. Less than a minute later,
Betty Boatwright doubled the lead with her seventh goal of the season, and
Margaret Cover capped the early surge with a tally at 7:31 off an assist from
Libby Bowers.
The Generals continued to pour on the pressure with goals in each quarter.
Gracie Kaspar scored her first goal of the season at 29:31 and added another late in the fourth, while Lancione,
Cecilia Hartford, and Cover each recorded second-half goals to round out the scoring.
Margaret Scheurer,
Noelle Kokolis, and Cover all contributed assists as W&L connected on four of its five penalty corners.

Dory Fosgate combined for the Generals' fifth shutout of the season, while Sweet Briar keepers Reiyn Hart and Aurora Duffie made six total saves.
