Men’s Track and Field Competes at VMI Winter Relays, Bison Open

LEXINGTON, Va. / LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Washington and Lee University men's track and field team split up for the first day of the VMI Winter Relays and Bison Open on Friday.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MEET
  • Sophomore Jackson Kodenski was the lone General competing on the first day of the Bison Open. Kodenski clocked in a new personal best time of 15:22.17 to claim the top spot in the 5,000m run. His time currently ranks fourth in the south region and the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) this season.
  • Sophomoe Will Vaughn is sitting in third place in his debut in the heptathlon with 2,416 points. Vaughn posted a second place finish in the long jump with a mark of 6.35m (20'-10.00") while finishing in fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.74m (5'-08.50"). Vaughn wrapped up the day with fifth place finishes in the 60m dash (7.59s) and the shot put (10.09m; 33'-01.25").
  • Junior Will Knight turned in a seventh place in the shot put this evening after recording a toss of 14.18m (46'-06.25"). First Year Jonathan Farbman clocked in the fifth fastest 60m dash in program history, crossing the finish line in a personal best time of 7.09s during this afternoon's prelims.
  • In the long jump, Sophomore Patrick Haynes turned in a 12th place finish after leaping 6.06m (19'-10.75").

TOP FIVE LIST UPDATES
  • Jonathan Farbman moved past Marc Watson's 60m dash time of 7.14s which was set in 2001 after clocking in a time of 7.09s in the prelims at the Winter Relays. His time currently ranks 20th in the south region and ninth in the ODAC this season.
