Men’s Track and Field Posts Four Top Ten Finishes on Second Day of Keydet Invite

LEXINGTON, Va. - The Washington and Lee University men's track and field team recorded four top ten finishes on the second day of the VMI Keydet Invitational on Saturday.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MEET
  • Seniors George Marable, Wilson Kasischke, and Luke Avigliano, along with sophomore Ethan De Fonseka, teamed up in the 4x400 relay this afternoon. The quartet posted a time of 3:27.93 to secure a seventh-place finish.
  • First-year Sam Daunt and sophomore Jackson Kodenski delivered top-10 performances in the 3,000m. Daunt clocked a time of 8:52.74 to finish in eighth place, a time that currently ranks 13th in the south region and eighth in the ODAC. Kodenski followed closely behind, finishing in 10th place with a time of 8:56.46, which ranks 15th in the south region and 10th in the conference.
  • Junior Will Knight wrapped up the meet in the shot put, earning a ninth-place finish with a throw of 14.66m (48'-01.25"). His mark currently leads the ODAC and ranks third in the south region.

UP NEXT
  • The Blue and White will split up next Friday and Saturday as members of the team will compete at the VMI Winter Relays while other members of the team will head to Lewisburg, Pa. for the Bison Open at Bucknell University.
