Distance Medley Relay Paces Men’s Track and Field at Keydet Invitational

LEXINGTON, Va. - The Washington and Lee University men's track and field team's distance medley relay squad paced the first day of the Keydet Invitational at the Virginia Military Institute on Friday. 

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MEET 
  • First-years Raja Mehendale and Davis Amare, sophomore Jaden Brighter, and junior Colin Verrett teamed up in the distance medley relay to close out the first day of the meet. The quartet clocked a time of 10:54.02 to secure a sixth-place finish, the top time among Division III competitors. Their performance currently ranks tenth in Division III and fourth in both the south region and ODAC.
  • Sophomores Will Vaughn and Patrick Haynes competed in the long jump this afternoon. Vaughn finished 27th overall and second among Division III competitors with a mark of 6.14m (20'-01.75"), while Haynes posted the third-best mark among Division III athletes, finishing 30th overall with a leap of 5.94m (19'-06.00").

  • The Blue and White will be back at VMI for the second day of the Keydet Invitational tomorrow. The action is set to start at 9 a.m. with the men's high jump, the mile run will kick off events on the track and 10  a.m.
