February is Black History Month and is a month that is dedicated to the reminiscence of the history of African Americans in the United States. Additionally, it is a time that is used to celebrate the achievements of African Americans throughout history, and to highlight the revolutions that were spear-headed by African Americans who sought to make a difference for their communities. Black History Month was first celebrated during a week in February 1926 that encompassed the birthdays of both Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass. The Class of 1994 Office of Inclusion and Engagement supports student groups and organizations in their promotion of Black History Month Activities.
