Lexington, Va. - Washington and Lee University student-athletes were among those recognized for outstanding academic achievement and leadership during the University's winter term honor society inductions, as members of the Generals community earned selection into both Phi Beta Kappa and Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK).

At the Phi Beta Kappa/Society of the Cincinnati Convocation held March 26 in the Houston H. Harte Center Gallery, several W&L student-athletes were inducted into the nation's oldest academic honor society, which recognizes exceptional achievement in the liberal arts and sciences.

The following day, W&L's Alpha Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa inducted a new class of student leaders during its spring ceremony. ODK recognizes excellence in scholarship, leadership, athletics, service and character.

Dan Kramer, director of the International Studies Office at the University of Virginia, delivered the Phi Beta Kappa convocation address titled "The Future of Diplomacy," while Cliff Holekamp '96, co-founder and managing director of Cultivation Capital, served as the keynote speaker for the ODK ceremony.
