CLINTON, Miss. - The No. 12-ranked Washington and Lee University women's cross country team earned its first NCAA Division III South Regional Championship since 2019 on Saturday, November 16.
Saturday's win is the second regional title for the program and secured an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships.
The Blue and White were led by
Olivia Warr's individual title, crossing the finish line in a time of 21:34.7. The individual championship was W&L's first since Josephine Schaeffer claimed the region's championship in 1992, 1993, and 1995.

RACE HIGHLIGHTS
- Individual Champion: Sophomore Olivia Warr claimed the individual title, crossing the finish line in 21:34.7 and pacing the Generals to their team victory.
- Consistent Scoring: All five scoring runners placed in the top 20, with four in the top 10.
- All-Region Honors: All seven of the Generals who competed on Saturday earned All-Region recognition for finishing inside the top 35. Kristen Clodgo becomes the fourth General to earn four consecutive All-Region laurels over her W&L career.
- W&L Spread: The Generals' top-five runners maintained a spread of just 1:02, highlighting their depth and consistency.

LOOKING AHEAD
With their regional title, the Generals earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships, scheduled for November 23. The top teams at the 10 Regional Championships all earn an automatic bid to the NCAA National Championships at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Indiana.
In addition to the region's winners, 22 teams will earn at-large bids rounding out field of 32. The top-seven individuals from each meet, who do not qualify as a team, will advance to the NCAA Championship as an individual qualifier. The entire NCAA Championship field will be announced on Sunday.
