No. 23 Men’s Swimming Upended at No. 7 Carnegie Mellon, 194-68

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The 23rd-ranked Washington and Lee University men's swimming team dropped their first dual of the season, falling to seventh-ranked Carnegie Mellon University 194-68 on Saturday afternoon.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MEET
  • The Blue and White fall to 2-1 on the season with the loss, dropping their 15th straight meet against the Tartans. The Generals won four of the 14 events this afternoon, recording 68 team points.
  • Dalton Jobe had a very successful day for the Blue and White, securing three solo wins. Jobe picked up his first win in the 200 freestyle, posting a winning time of 1:42.84 before clocking in a time of 46.65 in the 100 freestyle to finish in first. In his final event of the meet, Jobe posted a time of 1:55.50 in the 200 Individual medley to secure his third win of the meet.
  • Matt Fritz picked up the final win of the day for the Generals, clocking in the fastest time in the 100 butterfly to secure a first place finish.

  • The 23rd-ranked Generals are back in action on Friday, Nov. 1 as they host Southern Virginia University at 6 p.m. at the W&L Natatorium.
