LEXINGTON, Va. — Four members of the Washington and Lee University men's swimming team were named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team, recognizing their combined excellence in the pool and in the classroom.
Seniors
Charles Byars,
Leighton Chapman,
Jackson Hall and
Dalton Jobe earned the honor for the Generals, continuing the program's strong tradition of academic and athletic achievement.
Jobe was also selected as a CSC Academic All-America® finalist and will advance to the national ballot, with Academic All-America® honorees scheduled to be announced on April 29.
Byars, a senior Biology major, has been a key contributor across multiple relay and backstroke events, helping W&L earn NCAA All-America honors in relay competition while also setting the program record in the 100 backstroke. A multi-year W&L Scholar-Athlete and CSCAA Scholar All-American, he has been instrumental in the Generals' relay success at both the conference and national levels.
Chapman, a junior Business Administration and Earth and Environmental Geoscience double major delivered a standout championship season, earning First Team All-ODAC honors with conference titles in the 50 and 100 freestyle. He also contributed to multiple NCAA relay performances that earned Second Team All-America recognition, highlighting his impact as one of W&L's top sprinters.
Hall, a senior Mathematics major, was named the ODAC/VAFB Men's Swimming Scholar-Athlete of the Year and earned First Team All-ODAC honors after posting a runner-up finish in the 400 IM and top-three finishes in the 500 freestyle and 200 backstroke at the ODAC Championships. A multi-year W&L Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-ODAC honoree, he has been a consistent contributor across IM and distance events.
Jobe, a senior Accounting major, capped his career with another exceptional season, earning Second Team All-America honors in both the 200 IM (14th) and 200 freestyle (13th) at the NCAA Championships, while contributing to multiple All-America relay performances. A multi-time All-American and conference champion, he also holds program records in the 200 IM, 400 IM and 500 freestyle.

The CSC Academic All-District® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom across NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA. Nominees must meet a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and satisfy sport-specific athletic criteria.
