LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee University field hockey team dominated Sweet Briar College with a 7-0 victory on Wednesday night at W&L Turf Field.
The Generals (8-4, 2-2 ODAC) controlled the game from start to finish, scoring early and often, while the Vixens (5-7, 1-3 ODAC) were unable to muster a response. W&L outshot Sweet Briar 28-3 and earned 12 penalty corners, leading to a well-rounded offensive showcase.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- 3:48 – W&L – Margaret Cover opened the scoring, assisted by Sydney Baggett, to give the Generals a 1-0 lead.
- 16:44 – W&L – Jenna Bernstein doubled the lead off another assist from Baggett.
- 25:45 – W&L – Amanda Tan made it 3-0 with an unassisted goal.
- 35:02 – W&L – Sydney Baggett found the back of the net to extend the lead to 4-0.
- 45:22 – W&L – Bernstein scored her second goal of the game, once again assisted by Baggett, pushing the score to 5-0.
- 47:08 – W&L – Cover added her second goal of the match, assisted by Zoe Dolfis, bringing the tally to 6-0.
- 54:30 – W&L – Amanda Brickner completed the scoring for the Generals with an unassisted goal, making it 7-0.
BY THE NUMBERS
