Men's Golf Concludes at Jekyll Island Collegiate Three Round Tournament

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. - The No. 12 Washington and Lee University men's golf team finished in 14th place with a score card of 304-287-300–891 (+27) in the three day Jekyll Island Collegiate. 

Pierce Robinson (Kings Mountain, N.C. / Thomas Jefferson Classical) had the best performance for the Generals over the three-round tournament at Pine Lakes. On Rounds one and three he finished two strokes over par and sandwiched between those was a 70 (-2) scorecard on day two . Robinson played his best golf on Par 4 holes and was even in the scoring while he hit par on a tournament second-best 40 holes. 

Cannon Crane (Atlanta, Ga. / Holy Innocents' Episcopal) had the lowest round for the Generals on Saturday with a score card of 69 (-3). Crane recorded five birdies in the second round which included three of his last four holes of the day. His 11 total birdies tied for the sixth-most across the field of 150 players. Crane finished in the 30th slot on the individual leaderboard with his 219 (+3) card.

Top-ranked Emory won the event with a score of 842, 22 strokes under par and no. 1 Alex Price from Christopher Newport led the individual scoring with a score card of 67-67-68–202 (-14) to take first place overall. 

The Generals will compete at the Wynlakes Invitational in Montgomery, Ala. next week on March 27 and 28 at the Wynlakes Country Club.
