LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced the seeding for the Field Hockey Championship and Washington and Lee is marked as the third seed with a 7-2 ODAC record. 

The Generals will chase for the program's 5th ODAC title on W&L Turf Field and host the #6 Roanoke College Maroons at 6 p.m. in the quarterfinal round tonight, Tuesday, October 31, at 6 p.m. 

WLU matched up with RC on October 25 in Lexington and the Blue and White came out on top of a 4-0 victory and own a 25-4 series record and a 16-game winning streak over the Maroons. 

The Generals' offense is spread evenly throughout the roster with six players registering double-digit points. Betty Boatwright and Zoe Dolfis lead the way with 16 points each coming from six goals and four assists each. 

Sydney Baggett and Kate Ruffin both have 12 points to their stat lines and Margaret Cover and Allison Pitts round out the double digits with 10 points each. 

Defensively, the trio of Jordan Hoover, Jenny Lerner and Shelby Miller have played a majority of the minutes for W&L and hold down the back line for goalkeepers Abby Long and Julia McDonald. W&L has allowed just 15 goals against (0.94 goals per game) and a league-best 102 shots against. 

The Maroons' offense is charged by Grace Vernarelli, a junior forward, she has tallied 9 goals off 86 shots (5.73 shots per game) and 4 assists 22 total points. 

"We have grown immensely from the beginning of the season until now," stated Head Coach Gina Wills. "We have come into our own and our offense is clicking while the defense continues to maintain a strong presence as it has all season. We are excited for the postseason and the chase for another championship."
