LEXINGTON, Va. - The No. 10 Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming team defeated Washington and Lee 178-85 on Saturday morning in non-conference action. 

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MEET
  • The Generals won 4 of the 14 events from three different individuals. 
  • Sophomore Dalton Jobe picked up a pair of wins today for the Blue and White and contributed 21 points towards the team score. Jobe earned wins in both the 200 free (1:41.94) and 200 IM (1:55.24). The sophomore was edged out for a third win in the 500 free (4:45.57) by less than a second by CMU's Cole Venters (4:44.63). 
  • Junior Matt Fritz contributed to 20 team points by placing in four events. Fritz and his 200 medley  relay team (Harrison Cerone, Zane Ross and Leighton Chapman) took second (1:33.16) in the opening event of the day and capped the meet with another second place finish in too 200 free relay (Chapman, Charles Byars, and Baxter Smelzer). Individually, Fritz won the 100 butterfly (50.93) and placed third in the 100 backstroke (52.51). 
  • In addition to scoring in the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay, first-year Leighton Chapman scored in the 50 free (21.42) by placing third and before winning the 100 free (47.16).
