LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Washington and Lee women's track & field team set two program records and won one event en route to placing third at the 2022 ODAC Outdoor Championship on Saturday.
Highlights from the meet:
-Sophomore
Katelyn Gamble (Houston, Texas / The Kinkaid School) placed second in the 200m, but set a new personal best and school record in the process, as she ran a time of 25.05. Individually, Gamble also was the runner-up in the 100m in a time of 11.99.
-The team of junior
Susannah Birle (Charlottesville, Va. / Charlottesville), sophomore
Jordynn Palethorpe (Barrington, R.I. / Barrington), first-year
Ashley D'Ambrosia (Henrico, Va. / Collegiate School) and Gamble claimed the other program record on the day, as the quartet raced to a time of 48.60 in placing third in the 4x100m relay.
-Senior
Avery Schiffman (New Vernon, N.J. / The Pingry School) claimed a win in the 1,500m in a time of 4:42.58. She also placed second in the 800m (2:18.32) and helped the 4x400m relay (4:09.97) to a third-place finish.
-Junior
Parker Hawk (Dallas, Texas / The Hockaday School) claimed a pair of Top 3 finishes and a personal record. Hawk came in second in the 1,500m in a personal-best time of 4:42.92, and she took third in the 800m (2:19.93).
