LYNCHBURG, Va. – Sophomore Hayden Roberts (Lutherville, Md. / Loyola Blakefield) posted a team-high second-place finish in the 3,000m steeplechase on Friday to lead the Washington and Lee men's track & field team on the first day of the 2022 ODAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship.
 
Highlights from the meet:
 
-Roberts posted a time of 9:35.99 in the 3,000m steeplechase which was not only a personal best, but it is also the second-fastest time in program history. Roberts' second-place finish in the event is also the highest in the event at the ODAC Outdoor Championship in program history.
 
-Sophomore Adam Roy (Bedford, N.H. / Bedford) took third in the shot put with a toss of 13.70m (44'11.50"), a personal best, while sophomore Jackson Jacobs (Bridgeport, W.Va. / Bridgeport) came in fourth in the 10,000m in a personal-best time of 32:25.21.
 
-First-year Isaac Barber (Providence Forge, Va. / New Kent) and first-year Henry Haden (Atlanta, Ga. / The Lovett School) rounded out the Generals to finish Top 5 in finals events, as they posted a fifth-place effort each in the long jump (6.55m [21'6.00"]) and 10,000m (32:43.92).
 
-Six Generals also qualified for finals races on Saturday with top-eight finishes in prelim races, led by junior Doug Dracon (Matthews, N.C. / Weddington) who used a personal-record time of 48.96 to finish second in the 400m.
