HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Washington and Lee men's track & field team placed in the Top 5 in seven events and set 11 personal bests at the JMU Invite on Saturday.
Highlights from the meet:
-Sophomore
Adam Roy (Bedford, N.H. / Bedford) paced W&L on the day with a win and a new personal best in the javelin (54.39m [178'5.0"]). He also added a fifth-place effort in the shot put with another personal-best effort of 13.39m (43'11.25").
-Juniors
Holden Robinson (Wytheville, Va. / George Wythe) and
Doug Dracon (Matthews, N.C. / Weddington) placed third in one event each, with Robinson in the 3000m steeplechase (10:33.98) and Dracon in the 400m (49.46). Dracon's mark of 49.46 in the 400m was also a personal best, and he added a fifth-place finish in the 200m (22.16).
-First-year
Jaylen Day (Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. / Harve de Grace) came in fourth in the 110m hurdles in a new personal-best time of 15.78. Day also set a new PR in the 100m with a time of 11.72.
-Sophomore
Zach Moore (Advance, N.C. / Forsyth Country Day School) rounded out the Top 5 finishers for the Generals with a fifth-place performance in the 800m (1:56.94).
