LYNCHBURG, Va. — Senior Joe O'Connor (Henrico, Va./Douglas Freeman) broke his own school record in the pole vault to lead the Washington and Lee men's track and field team at the Jack M. Toms Invitational hosted by Lynchburg on Friday and Saturday.
 
Highlights From the Meet

• O'Connor claimed the top spot in the event with a mark of 4.96m (16'3.25"), just breaking his previous record of 4.95m (16'2.75"). He achieved that vault on May 14, 2021.
• The 4x100m relay finished second with a time of 45.01. The quartet consisted of junior Doug Dracon (Matthews, N.C./Weddington), first-years Patrick France (Brentwood, Tenn./Ensworth School) and Ryan McKenna (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) and junior Ty Powell (Yorktown, Va./Tabb).
• Junior Kyle Clarke (Sykesville, Md./Loyola Blakefield) placed third in the open 5,000m in 15:55.85.
• In the 4x400m relay, the W&L A team claimed third in 3:25.40. The foursome consisted of first-year George Marable (Aransas Pass, Texas/Rockport-Fulton), sophomore Zach Moore (Advance, N.C./Forsyth Country Day School), junior James Dixon (Mountain brook, Ala./the Altamont School) and first-year Luke Avigliano (Madison, N.J./Seton Hall Prep).
