LEXINGTON, Va. — The Washington and Lee men's track and field team recorded three Top 3 finishes on day two of the W&L Carnival on Saturday.
Highlights From the Meet
- In the pole vault, senior Joe O'Connor (Henrico, Va./Douglas Freeman) claimed first with a mark of 4.81m (15'9.25").
- First-year Luke Avigliano (Madison, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) placed third in the 800m with a time of 1:55.35. Sophomore Chris Ruiz (Highland Lakes, N.J./Vernon Township) was two spots behind him in fifth (1:56.57).
- The Generals secured three of the Top 5 spots in the 110m hurdles. Junior Seamus Watters (New Orleans, La./Bronxville) placed third in 15.85, first-year Jaylen Day (Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md./Harve de Grace) finished fourth (15.92) and junior Ty Powell (Yorktown, Va./Tabb) crossed the finish line fifth (15.96).
