LEXINGTON, Va. — The Washington and Lee men's basketball team shot 60.7 percent from the field and 57.1 percent from three-point range in the first half en route to an 83-58 victory over Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday in Holekamp Gym.
The Generals (8-9, 6-5 ODAC) led by two (21-19) with 9:41 left in the opening period, and then a three-pointer by junior guard
Jack Lewis (Rockville, Md./Sidwell Friends) ignited a 17-0 run over the next four minutes. After Lewis' triple, junior guard
Richie Manigault (Stewartsville, N.J./Phillipsburg) followed with one of his own, and then senior forward

Sophomore forward
Jack d'Entremont (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Radnor) dropped in a layup on W&L's next possession, and Manigault drained another triple to give the Blue and White a 35-19 advantage with 6:06 remaining in the half. A three-pointer by d'Entremont capped the spurt with 5:36 left in the stanza to put the Generals in front, 38-19. Over the final five minutes of the half, W&L added one-point to its lead, taking a 45-25 margin into halftime.

The Marlins (11-9, 7-4 ODAC) tallied the first two points of the second half, but W&L answered with a 10-1 run to assume a 55-28 gap with 15:44 on the clock. The Blue and White cruised the rest of the game on its way to the 25-point win.
