WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — For the second consecutive week, senior
Joe O'Connor (Henrico, Va./Douglas Freeman) broke the ODAC and W&L records in the pole vault in leading the Washington and Lee men's track and field team at the JDL DMR Invitational on Saturday.
Highlights From the Meet
- O'Connor claimed first in the event, clearing 5.10m (16'8.75"). It broke his previous school and ODAC records of 5.00m (16'4'75"), which he set at the VMI Winter Classic on February 12. It is the third-best mark in Division III this year.
- In the high jump, O'Connor placed fourth at 1.85m (6'0.75").
- Junior Doug Dracon (Matthews, N.C./Weddington) finished third in the 400m, crossing the finish line in 51.69.
- Sophomore Zach Moore (Advance, N.C./Forsyth Country Day School) placed fourth in the 800m with a time of 1:57.65.
