LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Washington and Lee men's swimming team cruised to a 175-87 win over Lynchburg on Saturday afternoon at the Liberty University Natatorium.
Highlights from the meet:
-The Generals won 10 of the 14 events on the day, including nine of the 12 individual races. W&L had seven different swimmers combine for the nine solo wins, with eight total swimmers contributing to at least one win each.
-Leading the way for the Blue and White was first-year
Dalton Jobe (Henrico, Va. / Collegiate School), who won the 100 free (46.79), 200 free (1:43.54) and 200 IM (1:57.11).

Todd Echols (Winston Salem, N.C. / RJ Reynolds), sophomore
Baxter Smelzer (Greensboro, N.C. / Page) and first-year
Thomas Denton (Essex, Vt. / Essex) each won one individual race each, and they all swam on the winning 200 medley relay (1:36.32).
-Echols' individual win came in the 200 breast (2:14.72), Smelzer touched first in the 50 free (21.88) and Denton topped the field in the 100 fly (52.89). Sophomore
Matt Fritz (Reston, Va. / South Lakes) rounded out the four competitors to swim on the 200 medley relay.
