Joe O'Connor (Henrico, Va./Douglas Freeman) led the Generals by taking first in the pole vault in Salem.
Highlights From the Meet
- O'Connor cleared 4.70m (15'5.00") to take the top spot by almost a full meter at the Finn Pincus Meet. Also at Roanoke on Friday, sophomore Mark Waller (Mountain Brook, Ala./Mountain Brook) placed fifth in the high jump at 1.75m (5'8.75").
- At VMI, the Blue and White claimed fifth in the Distance Medley Relay with a time of 10:45.82. The quartet consisted of juniors Connor Verrett (Cockeysville, Md./Loyola Blakefield) and Matthew Todd (Cumberland Foreside, Maine/Greely), sophomore Chris Ruiz (Highland Lakes, N.J./Vernon Township) and senior Nick Watson (Columbus, Ohio/Columbus Academy).
