FERRUM, Va. — Washington and Lee volleyball Head Coach
Bryan Snyder secured the 600th victory of his career on Saturday, as the Generals won at Ferrum, 3-1.
With the win, Snyder now has a 600-200 (.750) overall record in his 24 seasons, including a 559-175 (.762) mark as the coach of the Blue and White. He is the 17th active Division III coach to reach the 600-win plateau.
The Generals (11-3, 3-0 ODAC) lost the first set, 25-18, but stormed back to win the final three, 25-14, 25-8 and 25-20.
Senior right side
Carson Allsteadt (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) led the team with 14 kills on a .310 hitting percentage. Senior outside hitter
Val Sokolow (Draper, Utah/Juan Diego Catholic) added 13 kills and 12 digs. Sophomore outside hitter
Sydney Heifner (Nashville, Tenn./Harpeth Hall) also totaled 13 kills with nine digs.
Senior middle blocker
Katy Blain (West Palm Beach, Fla./Benjamin School) notched eight kills on a .381 hitting percentage to go along with five blocks. Junior defensive specialist
Caroline Gard (Naperville, Ill./Benet Academy) registered 10 digs, while junior setter
Ashley Webb (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Westlake) recorded a career-high 53 assists.
First-year setter Shelby Waltrip led the Panthers (3-10, 0-2 ODAC) with 10 kills, 23 assists and 16 digs. First-year outside hitter Taylor Joyner had 14 digs and four kills.
The Generals played Bridgewater later on Saturday.
