Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — The Washington and Lee volleyball team fell behind, 2-0, at Mary Washington on Saturday, and then rallied to win the next two sets, but ultimately dropped the fifth to lose the match, 3-2.
The Eagles (10-3) took the first two sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-18. The Generals (9-3) won the third and fourth, 25-22 and 25-19. UMW claimed the deciding fifth, 15-4.
Sophomore outside hitter
Sydney Heifner (Nashville, Tenn./Harpeth Hall) led the team and tied a career-high with 20 kills, while senior outside hitter
Val Sokolow (Draper, Utah/Juan Diego Catholic) totaled 12 kills. Sokolow also had 12 digs.
Junior defensive specialist
Caroline Gard (Naperville, Ill./Benet Academy) registered a team-high 23 digs. Junior setter
Ashley Webb (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Westlake) notched 46 assists.
Full box score results were not immediately available at the conclusion of the contest.
The Generals return to action on Wednesday, when they host Roanoke at 7:00 pm.
