FERRUM, Va. – The Washington and Lee men's lacrosse team saw 15 players score at least one goal en route to registering a 25-4 victory over Ferrum College on Saturday evening at Adams Stadium.
The Generals (5-3, 4-1) scored the first four goals of the game and used the momentum to produce a 14-1 lead at the break. Senior attackman
Stuart Greenspon (Aldie, Va. / Episcopal) scored two goals and assisted on another in the opening four-goal run, finishing the first half with three goals and three assists. Senior attackman
Taylor Witherell (Wilmington, Del. / Salesianum) also got in the act during the opening half, producing four goals in the opening 30 minutes of play.
W&L substituted liberally during the second half, with first-year attackman
Alex Brown (Norwalk, Conn. / Taft School) carrying a considerable amount of the scoring after the intermission. Brown scored his first career goal midway through the third quarter and finished with four goals and one assist. First-year midfielder
Nick Lipsher (New York, N.Y. / Choate Rosemary Hall), sophomore attackman
Wyatt Hamilton (Lynchburg, Va. / E.C. Glass) and first-year attackmen
Brian Bonnist (Suffern, N.Y. / Suffern) and
Justin Le (San Jose, Calif. / Bellarmine Prep) all scored their first career goals as well.
The Blue & White out-shot the Panthers (3-10, 1-7) by a total of 62-19 and W&L held a 42-15 edge in ground balls and a 24-8 advantage at the faceoff X led by senior midfielder
Chris Woodings (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Shady Side Academy), who went 12-for-16.
Greenspon led W&L with three goals and three assists, while Brown had four goals and one assist. Witherell finished with four goals and sophomore attackman
Hudson Pokorny (Darien, Conn. / Darien) had one goal and three assists. Bonnist tallied two goals and one helper, while Le posted one goal and two assists. Junior attackman
Spencer Kriss (Versailles, Ky. / Lexington Catholic) scored two goals and sophomore midfielder
Danny Kung (Dallas, Texas / Episcopal) added three assists as well.

Jack Taylor (Baltimore, Md. / Saint Paul's) started and played the first 30 minutes in goal, producing two saves with one goal allowed. Junior

Warren Seeds (Atlanta, Ga. / Westminster) and first-year
Ryan Aljader (Levittown, N.Y. / Chaminade) all played in the second half, combining to make five stops.
Senior midfielder Mackoy Bodmer led Ferrum with two goals. Junior midfielder Drew Fedorich added one goal and one assist, while junior Patrick Martinek played all 60 minutes in goal, making 12 saves.
Washington and Lee will play on back-to-back days for the second time this season, hosting Shenandoah for a 1:00 pm game on Sunday.
