The Washington and Lee Richard L. Duchossois Athletic and Recreation Center, the Duchossois Tennis Center and the W&L Natatorium are open to current students, faculty and staff.
Each space has modified hours and rules due to COVID-19, and swipe card is needed for entrance into the buildings. Listed below are the specific regulations that must be followed for each area in the facilities. We ask that you please be aware of and respect the office and classroom spaces in the buildings, and
there will also not be locker rooms or showers available for use in the buildings at this time, with an exception for the Natatorium for changing purposes only.
Along with specific rules listed below for each areas of the buildings, the core COVID-19 guidelines still apply when in a W&L athletic facility. Those rules include:
- Masks/facial coverings must be worn at all times.
- Individuals must be at least six feet apart at all times.
- Individuals are asked to sanitize their hands before and after using equipment.
W&L Natatorium
Facility Rules
- Available for one hour reservations, which can be made at this link: https://calendly.com/wlunatatorium
- Building will operate under reduced hours: Monday (6:00 am-8:00 am/12:30 pm-2:30 pm/7:00 pm-9:00 pm), Tuesday (12:00 pm-2:00 pm/7:00 pm-9:00 pm), Wednesday (6:00 am-8:00 am/2:00 pm-4:00 pm/7:00 pm-9:00 pm), Thursday (12:00 pm-2:00 pm/7:00 pm-9:00 pm), Friday (1:00 pm-3:00 pm), Sunday (1:00 pm-3:00 pm)
- Only one person per lane.
- Mask/facial covering must be worn at all times other than when in the water (on pool deck, changing room, etc.).
- Changing rooms only - no showers available.

Duchossois Tennis Center Use Guidelines
Playing Courts
- Available for reservation from 9:00 am-1:00 pm (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and 9:00am-10:30am (Tuesday and Thursday). Reservations can be made at this link: https://calendly.com/dtcreservations
- Masks/facial coverings are required when using the courts.

Locker rooms/Showers
- Are not available for use at this time.

First Floor
Multipurpose Room D
- Available for Group Exercise classes only.
Squash/Racquetball courts
- Only available for single-person use, and official club squash practices.
Varsity Golf Hitting Room
- Only open for varsity student-athletes of the W&L men's and women's golf teams.
W&L Recreation Gym
- The space is open from 6:00 am-10:00 pm Mondays through Thursdays, 6:00 am-8:00 pm on Fridays, 9:00 am-8:00 pm on Saturdays and 11:00 am-10:00 pm on Sundays.
- Equipment can be checked out if someone is in the recreation office located in the rec gym. You must leave your ID and no sharing of items.
- Per the university's indoor guidelines, the maximum occupancy for the space at a given time is 10.
- No 1v1 or pickup games will be allowed.
Second Floor
Men's and Women's Faculty/Staff Locker rooms
- Closed until further notice.
Varsity Golf Putting Room
- Only open for varsity student-athletes of the W&L men's and women's golf teams.
Third Floor
Athletic Training Clinic
- Maximum occupancy is 38.
- All student-athletes must show proof of completion of daily attestation.
- Appointment required for admittance into space.
Fitness Center
- Space is open from 6:00 am-10:00 pm Mondays through Thursdays, 6:00 am-8:00 pm on Fridays, 9:00 am-8:00 pm on Saturdays and 11:00 am-10:00 pm on Sundays.
- Workout time slots must be reserved in advance (to reserve a time, visit https://calendly.com/wlufitnesscenter).
- Users must show ID and proof of attestation at front desk upon check-in.
- Please disinfect all equipment before and after each use. Wipes are provided throughout the facility.
- Bring your own mat if desired. Mats and stability balls are unavailable at the current time.
- Some items will be available for check out. You must leave your ID. Items must be returned after use for disinfection. No sharing of items.
- Two-person spotting is recommended.

Men's and Women's General Locker Rooms
- Closed until further notice.
Multipurpose Room A
- Available for use, but must adhere to occupancy limits.
Multipurpose Room B

Fourth Floor
Class of 1969 Doremus Gymnasium
- The space is open from 6:00 am-10:00 pm Mondays through Thursdays, 6:00 am-8:00 pm on Fridays, 9:00 am-8:00 pm on Saturdays and 11:00 am-10:00 pm on Sundays.
- Equipment can be checked out if someone is in the recreation office located in the rec gym. You must leave your ID and no sharing of items.
- Per the university's indoor guidelines, the maximum occupancy for the space at a given time is 10 (which includes people on the track on the fifth floor of the space).
- No 1v1 or pickup games will be allowed.
Holekamp Gym
- The space is open from 6:00 am-10:00 pm Mondays through Thursdays, 6:00 am-8:00 pm on Fridays, 9:00 am-8:00 pm on Saturdays and 11:00 am-10:00 pm on Sundays.
- Equipment can be checked out if someone is in the recreation office located in the rec gym. You must leave your ID and no sharing of items.

Running Track
- The space is open from 6:00 am-10:00 pm Mondays through Thursdays, 6:00 am-8:00 pm on Fridays, 9:00 am-8:00 pm on Saturdays and 11:00 am-10:00 pm on Sundays.
- Per the university's indoor guidelines, the maximum occupancy for the space at a given time in 10 (which includes people on the court of Doremus Gymnasium on the fourth floor of the space).
Varsity Wrestling Room
- Only open for varsity student-athletes of the W&L wrestling team.
