  • Junior Miles Furman (Men's Soccer - Def. Player of the Week) - Furman posted a strong week in goal for the Generals to open the 2026 season, posting a pair of shutouts in the team's two wins in three games. He made two saves each in a 1-0 loss against Lynchburg to open the season and a 2-0 win at Franklin & Marshall on Friday evening. Furman then made a career-high six saves, five of which came in the second half, to blank Johns Hopkins on Sunday in a 1-0 win. Furman finished the week playing all 270 minutes in goal, 10 saves on 11 shots on goal (0.909) and a 0.333 goals-against average.
     
  • Senior Vivi Vasquez (Volleyball - Def. Player of the Week) - Senior Vivi Vasquez anchored the Generals’ defense during the opening week of competition, helping W&L to a 3-1 record. Vasquez registered a team-high 73 digs, averaging 6.08 per set, while posting a .966 reception percentage with just one error in 29 attempts. Vasquez recorded 19 digs in the season-opening win over Greensboro before turning in back-to-back 20-dig performances against Franciscan and Denison. She tallied 23 digs against the Barons and 21 against the Big Red before closing out the opening weekend with 10 digs against Otterbein.
     
  • Junior Sam Daunt (Men's Cross Country - Runner of the Week) - Junior Sam Daunt earned his first ODAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week honor of the season and the third of his career after placing third at the Virginia Tech Invitational. Daunt completed the 6-kilometer course in 18:21.9, finishing as the top Division III runner in the field behind only two Virginia Tech competitors. He led Washington and Lee to a second-place finish with 53 points, 13 ahead of ODAC rival Lynchburg.
     
  • First Year Helenka Chodakiewicz (Field Hockey - Def. Player of the Week) - First-year goalkeeper Helenka Chodakiewicz earned the first ODAC weekly honor of her career after recording 10 saves across two games against top-10 opponents. She made three saves and allowed just one goal, which came on a penalty stroke, in Washington and Lee’s 2-1 upset of then-No. 9 Dickinson. Chodakiewicz also stopped seven shots against No. 4 Christopher Newport and finished the week with a .769 save percentage and 1.50 goals-against average.

  • Junior Marcus Canton (Football - Defensive Player of the Week) - Junior cornerback Marcus Canton was named the first ODAC Defensive Player of the Week of the 2026 season after a standout performance in the Generals' 13-7 overtime win over Wittenberg University on Saturday afternoon. Canton recorded a career-high 12 tackles including five solo stops with one tackle for loss while also forcing a fumble inside the Generals' red zone to eliminate a scoring chance for the Tigers. Canton and the defense forced three turnovers (two fumbles and an interception) and four punts while holding the Wittenberg offense to seven points.
