VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Junior forward
Kailey Fitzgerald (Chevy Chase, Md./Georgetown Visitation) totaled two goals and two assists to lead the 12th-ranked Washington and Lee field hockey team to a 7-0 victory at Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday.
With the win, the Generals (15-0, 8-0 ODAC) extended their program-record winning streak to 15 contests and secured the first undefeated regular season in team history.
Fitzgerald tallied the first goal of the game just 3:38 after the opening whistle. Junior forward
Tess Muneses (Howard County, Md./Glenelg) extended the lead to 2-0 four minutes later off assists from junior forward
Peyton Tysinger (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Academy) and Fitzgerald.
Senior forward
Grace Weise (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Agnes Irwin School) scored the third and final goal of the first half with 9:47 left in the second off another assist from Fitzgerald. Tysinger opened the scoring, 4-0, in the third period just 29 seconds after halftime off an assist from Weise.

Senior goalkeeper Maura Bridges saw all 60 minutes of action for the Marlins (4-10, 2-6 ODAC), making 10 saves.
With her assist, Muneses moved into solo fourth on the W&L single-season list with nine this year. Fitzgerald has eight assists this season, which is fifth in program history.
W&L led in shots in the contest, 27-4, and held an 8-2 advantage in penalty corners.
The Generals have secured the top seed in the ODAC Tournament and receive a bye to the semifinals. W&L will host a semifinal on Thursday and will face the winner of the quarterfinal between Roanoke and Randolph-Macon.
