W&L Volleyball Tops Widener, 3-0

RADNOR, Pa. – Junior setter Ashley Webb (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Westlake) recorded 31 assists, three aces, three digs and two blocks to propel the Washington and Lee volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over Widener in a neutral-site match at Cabrini on Saturday.
 
The Generals (20-5) controlled the lead for most of the match, winning the sets, 25-22, 25-17 and 25-12. W&L hit .211 in the match with 40 kills and 16 errors on 114 total attempts. The Pride (18-8) finished at .061 with 28 kills and 21 errors with 115 swings.
 
Sophomore outside hitter Sydney Heifner (Nashville, Tenn./Harpeth Hall) led the team with 13 kills and 11 digs. Senior outside hitter Val Sokolow (Draper, Utah/Juan Diego Catholic) totaled 14 digs. Senior right side Carson Allsteadt (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) contributed eight kills.
 
Junior defensive specialist Caroline Gard (Naperville, Ill./Benet Academy) notched 10 digs, and senior middle blocker Katy Blain (West Palm Beach, Fla./Benjamin School) registered seven kills and three blocks.
 
Senior right side Alnisha Saintilus led Widener with six kills and senior defensive specialist Madeline Dutterer ended the match with 16 digs.
 
The Generals played Cabrini later on Saturday.
