LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee men's swimming team came away with a pair of wins on Saturday afternoon, defeating Randolph, 221-32, and Roanoke, 184-78, in a senior day tri-meet.
Highlights from the meet:
-W&L won 11 of the 14 races on the day and saw five different swimmers combine for nine individual wins and one pool record.
-Juniors
Patrick Sullivan (Pawleys Island, S.C. / Waccamaw) and
Danny Lynch (Richmond, Va. / Trinity Episcopal School) led the charge with three individual wins each. Sullivan came out on top in the 100 fly (52.95) and 100 free (46.18), and used a pool-record time of 1:42.12 to win the 200 free, breaking his own pool record.
-Lynch was victorious in the 100 back (52.88), 200 back (1:57.70) and 200 individual medley (1:58.94), and was also part of the winning 200 medley relay (1:34.93).
-Junior
Conner Van Vooren (Morrisville, N.C. / Cary Christian School) contributed to three total wins on the day, touching the wall first in the 50 free (21.58), while joining Lynch on the 200 medley relay and swimming the final leg of the first-place 400 free relay.
