LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee women's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw against York (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon at Watt Field.
The Generals (1-2-1) controlled play in the field throughout the contest, holding a 24-8 advantage in shots. They also took 12 corner kicks, as opposed to the Spartans' (0-4-1) six. W&L's best scoring opportunity came in the 106th minute when first-year forward Sydney Von Rosenberg (Boerne, Texas / Boerne-Samuel V. Champion) took a shot that went just over the crossbar.
Junior midfielder Megan Engeland (Yardley, Pa. / Pennsbury) and first-year midfielder Erin Hoeh (Chesterland, Ohio / West Geauga) led W&L in shots with four apiece.
Sophomore keeper Leeann Passaro (Upper Saddle River, N.J. / The Lawrenceville School) saw all 110 minutes in goal for the Blue and White and posted four saves. First-year keeper Jess Wieber also played the entire contest and recorded six saves for York.
W&L returns to action on Sunday, when it hosts Averett at 2:00 pm.
