Women's Golf

W&L Finishes Third in the Inaugural ODAC Women's Golf Championship

CAPE CHARLES, Va. – The Washington and Lee women's golf team finished third out of three teams at the inaugural Old Dominion Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship held at the Bay Creek Resort on Monday and Tuesday.

Randolph-Macon claimed the team championship by posting a two-day score of 370-349—719, 10 strokes better than Hollins (369-360—729).  The Generals recorded a score of 402-377—779.

Randolph-Macon's Olivia Bowling was the individual medalist, carding a two-day score of 87-79—166 to finish four strokes clear of the 17-player field.

First-year Rachael Wright (Roanoke, Va. / North Cross) was the top General in the field, finishing in a tie for seventh with a score of 94-90—184.  First-year Sara Moir (Roanoke, Va. / Hidden Valley) posted a 95-94—189 to finish 11th, while first-year Nicole Kasica (Greensboro, N.C. / Northern Guilford) carded a 104-97—201 to place in a tie for 14th.  First-year Lydia Barit (Paget, Bermuda / Middlesex School) rounded out the W&L competitors with a 109-96—205 to finish 16th.

The Generals have now concluded their first full varsity season of competition.
