After plating one run in the bottom of the second inning to make it 3-1, W&L (11-4, 2-2) erupted for six runs in the third inning to take a commanding 7-3 lead. Junior catcher Will Lewis (Columbia, S.C./A.C. Flora) drove in two runs with a double in the inning and junior third baseman Jim Plantholt (Pylesville, Md./North Harford) added a two-run single.

Senior designated hitter Terrence McKelvey (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) hit a two-run single as part of a three-run fourth inning that concluded the Generals scoring.
