LEXINGTON, Va. – Sophomore forward Felice Herman (Fairfield, Pa./Delone Catholic) and sophomore guard Allie Long (Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y./Hastings) registered 15 points apiece as Washington and Lee cruised to an 82-47 victory over Hollins University on Tuesday evening at the Warner Center.
The Generals (6-8, 6-4) used a 19-1 run in the opening 5:33 of the game to take a 25-9 lead at 11:40 and never trailed again in the contest en route to the 35-point triumph.
W&L held a 52-25 advantage on the boards and forced 25 HU turnovers.
Long's point total was a career-high and was supplemented by junior center Kaitlyn Kamp (Bloomington, Minn./Lutheran), who added a season-high 11 points and seven rebounds. Senior guard Alysen Kuck (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Joseph By the Sea) chipped in seven points and recorded a career-high 16 rebounds, five assists and four steals.
Hollins (0-14, 0-10) was led by sophomore guard Tamara Phillips (Roanoke, Va./Lord Botetourt), who amassed 14 points and five assists. Senior center Emily Long (Melbourne, Fla./Holy Trinity) chipped in 11 points.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Saturday as it hosts Emory & Henry for a 2:00 pm game.
