HOLLINS, Va. – The Washington and Lee women's basketball team set team records for points scored and margin of victory in producing a 111-40 win over Hollins on Monday evening.
The Generals (1-3) jumped out to a 21-6 lead in the opening 6:57 of the game and never looked back in claiming their first win of the season.
First-year guard Kari Ann Pfannenstein (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) paced five W&L players in double-figures with a career-high 30 points. First-year forward Rebecca Bolton (Pittsboro, N.C./Chatham Central) totaled 13 points, senior guard Casidhe Horan (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) notched 12 points, senior forward Alysen Kuck (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Joseph's by the Sea) added 11 points and sophomore center Felice Herman (Fairfield, Pa./Delone Catholic) chipped in 10 markers.
Tamara Phillips scored 22 points to lead Hollins (0-5). Candace Berra added eight points.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Wednesday as it hosts Guilford for a 7:00 pm contest.
