CARLISLE, Pa. -- Cabrini's Deana DiAmico scored eight of her game-high 26 points during a decisive 14-1 run over the game's final 4:01 to propel the Cavaliers to a 72-58 win over the Washington and Lee women's basketball team on day two of the Dickinson Tip-Off Tournament on Sunday afternoon.
DiAmico was a perfect 5-for-5 from three-point territory and set a tournament record for three-pointers made with 13 over two games.
Senior forward Kara Nadeau's (Oak Hill, Va./Oakton) jumper cut the Cavalier (1-1) lead to just one at 58-57 with 4:28 remaining, before the Generals (0-3) missed their final eight shots as Cabrini pulled away for the win.
The Generals held a slim 31-28 lead at the break, but shot just 34.4 percent in the second half (11-of-32) compared to 51.9 percent (14-of-27) for Cabrini.
Sophomore forward Felice Herman (Fairfield, Pa./Delone Catholic) led three Generals in double figures with 19 points on 9-of-10 shooting before fouling out with 3:38 remaining. Nadeau added 12 points and seven rebounds, while first-year guard Megan Ingram (Greensboro, N.C./Ragsdale) chipped in 11 points and three assists for W&L.
Brittany McLeod scored 14 points and added a game-high 10 rebounds for Cabrini.
Washington and Lee returns to action when it travels to Hollins for a 7:00 pm contest on Mon., Dec. 3.
