Generals Defeated by Dickinson, 84-52

CARLISLE, Pa. -- Sophomore guard Alesha Sisco scored a game-high 22 points in leading Dickinson to an 84-52 victory over Washington and Lee in women's basketball action on Saturday evening in the first day of the Dickinson Tip-Off Tournament. 

The Generals (0-2) held a 22-17 lead with 11:03 left in the first half, but a 17-0 surge over the next 7:31 gave the Red Devils (1-0) a 34-22 lead en route to a 40-29 lead at the break.

W&L, who was hampered by 39.6 percent (21-53) shooting and 29 turnovers, was paced by first-year forward Rebecca Bolton's (Pittsboro, N.C./Chatham Central) 14 points, seven rebounds and four steals. First-year guard Meghan Ingram (Greensboro, N.C./Ragsdale) also recorded 14 points and grabbed five boards, while senior forward Kara Nadeau (Oak Hill, Va./Oakton) notched 10 points and three steals.

Sisco was joined in double figures for the Red Devils by sophomore guard Carole Dempsey, who registered 19 points, six rebounds and four steals, while junior guard Brooke Muller tallied 12 points and four steals. Senior guard Laura Lyons recorded 11 points.

Washington and Lee returns to action on Sunday as it participates in day two of the Dickinson Tip-Off Tournament. The Generals will play Cabrini at 2:00 pm.
