LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team improved its record to 8-5 overall and 3-1 in the ODAC with a 30-25, 20-30, 30-23,30-16 victory over Virginia Wesleyan Saturday afternoon.

The Generals (8-5, 3-1) were paced by senior setter Lauren Rudolph (Ft.Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) who tallied 15 digs and 17 assists. Sophomore setter Kristi Stevens (Overland Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission So.) registered 22 assists, while junior outside hitter Laura Maurer (Sparta, N.J./Pope John XXIII) notched 15 kills. Junior rightside Jessica Ulrich (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) recorded 5 service aces and 11 digs.

With the loss, Virginia Wesleyan fell to 11-7 overall and 3-2 in the ODAC.

Washington and Lee returns to action on Tuesday when it travels to Ferrum for a 7:00 pm match.
