W&L Volleyball Downs Lynchburg, 3-0

LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team improved to 18-3 overall, 7-0 in the ODAC, with a 30-25, 30-23, 30-18 win over Lynchburg on Tuesday evening at the Warner Center.

The Generals were led by senior setter Christine Gladysz (Palm Harbor, Fla./Berkeley Prep), who amassed a game-high 49 assists and 18 digs. Senior middle blocker Susan Gaillard (Charleston, S.C./Porter-Gaud) posted 15 kills, while sophomore outside hitter Jessica Hudock (Tampa, Fla./Holy Names) and freshman outside hitter Laura Maurer (Sparta, N.J./Pope John Paul XXIII) notched nine kills each. Junior libero Lauren Edmonson (Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) added 12 digs.

Lynchburg was led by sophomore outside hitter Katie Warlick (Stafford, Va./Colonial Forge), who registered 10 kills and four digs. With the loss, the Hornets fell to 10-14 overall, 4-3 in the ODAC.

Washington and Lee will return to the court on Saturday as it hosts a tri-match with Virginia Wesleyan (11:00 am) and Southern Virginia (4:00 pm).
