LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team won its 12th straight match with a 30-21, 31-29, 30-16 win over Bridgewater on Wednesday evening at the Warner Center.
Senior outside hitter Emily Wolfing (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) notched 16 kills, 15 digs and three blocks to lead the the Generals. Junior right side Laura Byrne (Springfield, Pa./Merion Mercy Academy) tallied 11 kills, 10 digs and four blocks, while junior middle blocker Taylor Gibson (San Diego, Calif./Point Loma) registered 11 kills. Junior middle blocker Susan Gaillard (Charleston, S.C./Porter-Gaud) recorded seven blocks, while junior setter Christine Gladysz (Palm Harbor, Fla./Berkeley Prep) added 47 assists and nine digs.
The win improved W&L to 17-4 overall, 7-0 in the ODAC, while Bridgewater fell to 19-6 overall, 5-3 in ODAC play.
W&L will look to improve its streak with a pair of matches at Hollins on Saturday. The Generals play Randolph-Macon Woman's College at 1:30 pm and Hollins at 4:00 pm.
