BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team pushed its ODAC regular-season winning streak to 27 matches with a 30-26, 20-30, 31-29, 30-26 win over Bridgewater on Wednesday evening.
The Generals (14-2, 7-0) were led by junior outside hitter Emily Wolfing (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll), who totaled 15 kills and 18 digs. Sophomore middle blocker Taylor Gibson (San Diego, Calif./Point Loma) notched 10 kills and four blocks, while sophomore right side Laura Byrne (Springfield, Pa./Merion Mercy) registered nine kills and 11 digs.
Freshman outside hitter Ashley Hurt (Altamonte Springs, Fla./Trinity Prep) added nine kills and nine digs. Sophomore setter Christine Gladysz (Palm Harbor, Fla./Berkeley Prep) amassed 51 assists and 19 digs.
With the loss, Bridgewater fell to 20-4 overall, 4-1 in the ODAC.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Friday as it competes in the Savannah Art & Design Invitational. The Generals will play Roanoke at 3:00 pm and then play Peace at 7:30 pm.
