LEXINGTON, Va. -- Sophomore outside hitter Michelle Chastain (Phoenix, Ariz./Xavier Prep) recorded 18 kills and 21 digs to lead Washington and Lee past Bridgewater, 30-14, 30-27, 29-31, 30-27 in ODAC volleyball action on Tuesday evening at the Warner Center.
Freshmen middle blocker Susan Gaillard (Charleston, S.C./Porter-Gaud) totaled 16 kills and five blocks, while sophomore outside hitter Emily Wolfing (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) notched 11 kills and 16 digs. Freshman middle blocker Taylor Gibson (San Diego, Calif./Point Loma) added seven kills and seven blocks. Freshman setter Christine Gladysz (Palm Harbor, Fla./Berkeley Prep) amassed 47 assists and 14 digs.
The win was W&L's 19th-straight against ODAC competition and improved the Generals' record to 23-5 overall, 9-0 in the ODAC. The loss dropped Bridgewater to 21-4 overall, 7-2 in the ODAC.
Washington and Lee returns to action this weekend as it participates in the Maryville Invitational. On Friday, the Generals will play Sewanee at 4:30 pm and Huntingdon and 7:00 pm.
