W&L Defeats Bridgewater, 3-0, in Volleyball

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Freshman middle blocker Lindsay Ruckert (Metairie, La./Sacred Heart) totaled 19 kills and nine digs to help lead the Washington and Lee volleyball team past Bridgewater College, 15-10, 15-11, 15-12 on Tuesday evening.

Fellow classmate Lee Charbonnet (New Orleans, La./Benjamin Franklin) totaled seven kills, 18 digs and four aces, while sophomore setters Katherine Kline (Potomac, Md./Holton Arms School) and Pam Saulsbury (Ridgely, Md./North Caroline) each amassed 21 assists.

Bridgewater (8-1, 2-1) was led by Amy Weaver (Weyers Cave, Va./Fort Defiance) with 34 assists, Jennifer Hogshead (Churchville, Va./Buffalo Gap) with 15 digs, and Jennifer Frack (Nokesville, Va./Brentsville) with 12 kills.

W&L is now 12-2 overall and 4-0 in the ODAC. The Generals are also ranked fifth in the South Region, with the top six teams in each region advancing to the NCAA Tournament.

The Generals next action will take place on October 1, when they travel to Lynchburg College for a 6:30 pm contest.
