Taylor Gibson returned to Washington and Lee volleyball in the 2022 season as a volunteer assistant coach, marking her third stint in Lexington.
Previously, Gibson served as the program's full-time assistant volleyball coach from 2013 to 2018. During her five years with the Generals, the team amassed a 142-62 record, captured three ODAC Championships, and made three NCAA Tournament appearances. While on staff, she helped coach four honorable mention All-Americans, eight AVCA All-Region selections, and 15 all-conference honorees.
A 2006 graduate of Washington and Lee, Gibson earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Philosophy. Gibson spent time as the national recruiting director for volleyball at SportsForce Online in San Diego, Calif., and a coach for Epic Volleyball Club. Gibson also spent four years as an account manager for HireRight, Inc.
As a student-athlete at W&L, Gibson was a four-year member of the volleyball team, helping the Generals achieve a 127-25 overall record and an undefeated 42-0 mark in ODAC play. The team won four conference titles and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in each of her seasons. Gibson ranks third all-time at W&L in hitting percentage (.339) and seventh in career blocks (325).
