Texas Rio Grande Valley Athletics

Katie Shank is in her ninth year as an assistant athletic trainer at Washington and Lee during the 2021-22 school year.

Shank joined W&L after serving as an intern athletic trainer at UNC Charlotte, where she worked with the volleyball team for two years. She earned her Master of Athletic Training from the University of Findlay in 2014, gaining experience with a variety of sports including women’s basketball, softball, wrestling, football, and tennis. She also completed clinical rotations with Northwest Ohio Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Arcadia High School, and Bluffton University.

A 2012 graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran College, Shank holds a bachelor’s degree in sport and exercise science with a minor in psychology. She is a NATA-BOC Certified Athletic Trainer, a licensed athletic trainer, and is certified in CPR/AED through the American Red Cross.
